The Exterminating AngelVideo Mercury
The guests to an upper-middle class gathering find impossible to abandon the room where the reunion took place. They are simply terrified of leaving. Fear will drive them to a forced life in common which, as the time passes, becomes tinged with violence and dramatism. Buñuel, who was not fond of crowds, could not conceive society as good, but as a farce of the good. This tale attempts to unmask the instincts and hidden intentions by the image of civility exposing the selfishness and miscommunication level latent in every society.
