Colombia Magia Salvaje
Colombia Magia Salvage (Colombia, Wild Magic), screened in Spanish with English subtitles, is an amazing film by director Mike Slee, showing the best of Colombian nature and its wonderful biodiversity, with incredible shots of amazing creatures and landscapes of Colombia. It took five years to shoot the 85 locations and 20 ecosystems that appear in the documentary film that explores the country’s landscape. The British director was requested to make the film by Ecoplanet Foundation and Grupo Exito. Shot on a $3m (£2m) budget, the film hopes to “raise awareness about what can be done to save what flora and fauna we still have,” says Mr. Francisco Forero, head of Ecoplanet Foundation. He points out that the diversity they found across the 78,830 miles they travelled, which included the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, gives the opportunity to spectators to “finally see with their own eyes why Colombia is the second most bio-diverse country in the world”.
