Champions of illusion ( Program: #WomenOutsideOfTheBox)

The world is pure illusion. There is never a perception that is an exact copy of reality. The brain does not try to reconstruct reality as it is, but rather builds our subjective experience, and correspondence is never total. We work with our own versions, that's why we do not collide with the furniture and we can agree that the heart is red and the sun is yellow. But where exactly is the visual experience generated? In what hidden corner of the brain does the spark come? How is the magical connection between the neural circuits and the light that our eyes capture established?

These questions will be answered by our guest, the neuroscientist Susana Martínez-Conde & Stephen Macknik.
