Marta Sanz at 'International Writers at Leeds'

The prestigious Spanish writer Marta Sanz, finalist of the Nadal Award for literature in 2006 with her book 'Susana y los viejos' ('Susana and the old men'), will be visiting the University of Leeds for a forthcoming event organised by the Instituto Cervantes of Leeds and the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies of the University of Leeds. This activity is also part of the International Writers at Leeds initiative.

Sanz is a Doctor in Contemporary Literature at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, and usually contributes to the 'El Pais' newspaper, 'Público' online newspaper and the magazine 'El cultural'. As a writer, she has developed a career in crime fiction with titles like 'Black, black, black' (Anagrama, 2010) and 'A good detective never gets married' ('Un buen detective no se casa jamás', Anagrama, 2012), a series featuring the homosexual detective Arturo Zarco.

Marta Sanz will give a public reading and will answer questions from the of University Leeds professor Duncan Wheeler as well as ones from the audience.
